- It can be used as an effective insect repellent if combined with neem. Coconut meal cake has a 4-5 percent oil content that is extracted using a solvent extraction method. This oil has industrial use, and the de-oiled cake is used to manufacture cow feed. It’s mostly made up of fibre, with 20% protein and 10% oil.
